Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a student organization of Texas State University?
No. While several members of our Board of Directors have attended Texas State, this is not a student organization. We are a traditional independent 501(c)3 Nonprofit Public Charity Scholarship Foundation.
Who qualifies for your scholarships?
Any Caucasian-American man attending an institute of higher learning in the United States of America.
Can graduate students apply for this program?
Yes. High School seniors, undergraduate, post-graduate, as well as community college and technical students are all welcome to apply to F.M.A.F.E.
Is there an age limit to apply?
There is no age limit. We understand that college students both young and old need help paying for tuition, books, and other fees associated with affording an education.
Where does the money come from to pay for these scholarships?
F.M.A.F.E. gets 100% of our funding from individuals across the country. To this point, no other organization has stepped forward to support F.M.A.F.E.'s mission of helping Caucasian Families afford to send their sons to college. We simply do not have significantly large donations provided to us, unlike some similar organizations that target the traditionally labeled "minorities" such as females, African-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, etc... Despite being a certified 501(c)3 Tax-Exempt Nonprofit, we anticipate that potential organizations that would normally support our cause financially are fearful of tying their name to F.M.A.F.E. and being characterized as racist or insensitive by the powers that be.
How much money is F.M.A.F.E. giving away?
Despite the shoddy reporting done by a few select members of the media, we have tried to make it crystal clear to the public exactly how much each academic semester's scholarship amounts are. We awarded $500.00 scholarships for the Fall of 2011, we will give $1000.00 scholarships for the Spring of 2012, and we have set our next fundraising goal for $25,000.00 This is in hopes of giving out five $5000.00 scholarships for the Fall of 2012.
Why did you start F.M.A.F.E.? Aren't there enough scholarships that white guys already qualify for?
Nearly all scholarships in existence that "white guys" qualify for are open to all races, ethnicities, and genders. As of March 2010, however, the Former Majority Association for Equality is the first and only 501(c)3 Nonprofit Organization in the History of the United States that specifically targets Caucasian men with an ethnically-based scholarship.
Isn't F.M.A.F.E. just a media stunt to fight Affirmative Action?
No. F.M.A.F.E. exists for one reason, and one reason alone: to provide an ethnically-based scholarship for Caucasian-American males. We aren't fighting Affirmative Action because we have absolutely no stance on Affirmative Action. Actually, we have no stance on any legislation. The only statement F.M.A.F.E. is making is a simple one: Caucasian Families deserve as equal a platform as any other race or ethnicity to have an ethnically-based scholarship for their sons' education.
Is it true that one of your inaugural scholarship winners denied the award?
Yes. After filling out an entire application: complete with two essays, letters of recommendation, financial documentation, even sending in a copy of his birth certificate... the day after finding out that he won the scholarship award for $500.00, one individual had his parent notify F.M.A.F.E. and let us know that he had decided to "turn down" the scholarship. No specific reason was offered.
How close is F.M.A.F.E. to the next fundraising goal?
